How We Begin is a multi-lingual podcast initiated by two Asian drama therapists graduated from NYU, Jun and Clara. Our team has grown to include members currently in training and in Canada. We recognize and understand that it is not an easy path being trained, getting licensed, while standing at the intersections of cultures. Our mission is to illuminate the journeys of Asian creative arts therapists and those who incorporate arts in healthcare professions. By sharing their unique stories and experiences, we hope to foster understanding, empathy, and appreciation for the diverse paths that lead individuals to pursue this profession.
Through heartfelt conversations and insightful discussions, we seek to:

As Thailand’s First Drama Therapist - Jear's Journey
泰国第一位戏剧治疗师 Jear 的旅程
In this episode we dive in with the very first drama therapist from Thailand, Jear.
Jear’s journey began in the television industry before 2000. She later transitioned into drama therapy, reshaping both her professional and personal identity. Along the way, she has carried many roles — artist, educator, pioneer, and mother.
This episode explores what it means to step into the unknown: leaving behind fame and stability to open new paths for mental health in Thailand, and using theatre as a way to heal both self and others.
